Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 October 2026 · Operated by Rakessh.D

Short version: Your leads, vendor companies, consultants, résumé files, notes and settings are stored only in your own browser and are never uploaded. If you create a BenchPilot account, we (and our service providers) keep only your account email, sign-in details and plan and payment records. If you press Send on the feedback button, we also receive that report. We do not sell your data or track you.

BenchPilot ("the extension", "we") is a Chrome extension for recruiters and bench sales professionals, operated by Rakessh.D ("the seller"). This policy explains what the extension handles and where it goes. This website (the marketing site) does not use cookies, analytics or trackers.

1. What data the extension reads

1a. LinkedIn profile card

The LinkedIn profile card reads only the profile page you are viewing at that moment. For your 1st-degree connections, when you open LinkedIn's "Contact info" panel, BenchPilot captures the contact details shown there. Those details are stored only on your own computer (in your browser's local extension storage) and are never sent to BenchPilot servers or anyone else.

1b. Résumé files

Résumés (PDF or Word .docx) you attach to a consultant are stored only on your own computer, in the extension's own browser database. They are never uploaded or sent to BenchPilot servers or anyone else. BenchPilot reads their text on your computer, using a copy of the open-source pdf.js library bundled inside the extension for PDFs and its own built-in reader for Word files, only to suggest values for you to review. Removing a résumé or deleting the consultant deletes the file.

Your own profile and résumé, saved in Settings, and the job openings you save in Jobs for you, stay on your computer. They are never uploaded or sent to BenchPilot servers or anyone else.

2. Where the data is stored

3. We do not sell or transfer your data

We do not sell, rent, trade or transfer user data to third parties. We do not use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to the extension's single purpose (helping you find and manage recruiter leads and pitch consultants), and we do not use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.

4. Chrome Web Store User Data Policy

BenchPilot's use of data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. Accounts, license keys and payments

To use a paid plan (Basic or Pro) you sign in with an account (email and password, or "Continue with Google"). Free features work without an account. If you create one, the following is handled:

5a. Feedback and bug reports

BenchPilot has a Report a bug / Send feedback button (in the LinkedIn drawer, the popup, the dashboard and Settings, and the Alt+Shift+F shortcut). Nothing is sent unless you press Send.

6. Emails you send

The "Pitch" and "Submit" buttons open Gmail, Outlook or your default email app with a pre-filled message. The email is sent by that service under its own privacy policy. BenchPilot does not send emails itself and cannot read your mailbox.

7. Your rights and choices

8. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for using contact information you collect in line with the laws that apply to you (for example CAN-SPAM in the US, and India's data protection rules) and with the terms of the websites you use, including LinkedIn's terms.

9. Children

BenchPilot is a professional tool and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the effective date above and, for material changes, note it in the extension's release notes. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.

11. Contact
